Over the past couple of months, Barb has really dialled in her technique and shown a strong commitment to becoming a better athlete.
Despite having some injury limitations, she never lets that hold her back. She gives 100% in every session and consistently shows up ready to improve.

Q: How long have you been a member at Proficient?
A: Since November 2024 after moving to Adelaide from Darwin
Q: What is your favourite thing about being a Proficient athlete?
A: The relaxed, casual atmosphere and the genuine support from the trainers
Q: How would you describe the community at Proficient?
A: Friendly, engaging, supportive and most of all fun
Q: What advice do you have for someone who is intimidated by group fitness?
A: Give it a go, there is nothing to lose. We have all been in that same situation…the difference is that CrossFit Proficient will make you feel welcomed, they genuinely care and want to support you and help you succeed on your fitness journey
Q: Favourite music to sweat to?
A: Anything with a good beat as I do like to have a little dance
Q: Least favourite music to sweat to?
A: Lucas’s playlist during weightlifting….OMG TOO SLOW
Q: Favourite movement/workout?
A: Absolutely love Olympic Lifting and squatting, except my knees do not haha, but also anything with a Kettlebell
Q: Least favourite movement/workout?
A: AAAHHHHHH wall balls
Q: Is there a member of the Proficient Community that inspires and motivates you to be better?
A: Besides the coaches I would say Chris. She is amazing.
Q: Is there a member of the Proficient community that needs to know you are coming for them? Feel free to put them on notice!
A: No one at the gym, maybe my 40-year-old self.
Q: Favourite post-workout meal?
A: As I mostly do morning workouts I do like a good protein smoothie – banana, almond milk, peanut butter, and choc honeycomb collagen protein powder
Q: What fitness-related goals do you have for 2025?
A: Well besides losing weight…I just want to be fit and strong for me. Get back into Kettlebell Sport and being able to jog again.
