Meet Tamara, our February Member of the Month!
A dedicated and determined mum, Tamara never backs down from a challenge. When she sets a goal, she goes all in to achieve it—and we absolutely love her energy!
Take a moment to read about her journey with us so far.

Q: How long have you been a member at Proficient?
A: since December 2024 

Q: What is your favourite thing about being a Proficient athlete?
A: the community! Everyone is so supportive of each other. I am relatively new to adelaide, I lived rural for a number of years. So I moved here with no friends locally so the community connecting is super important to me. Also, I am a mum so the ability to be apart of a gym that is family friendly is amazing for me. Takes the pressure off if I need to bring my little one along. I love that my daughter can watch me be strong & fit. I want her to grow up knowing women can be anything, especially physically strong.

Q: How would you describe the community at Proficient? 
A: supportive, friendly, uplifting and bad ass! 

Q: What advice do you have for someone who is intimidated by group fitness?
A: This was me, lol, just do it, you will learn so much from others. What you think you can’t do they will be up lifting and help you believe in yourself. No one is judging, you are all in the same sweaty boat 

Q: Favourite music to sweat to?
A: a bit of everything really, depending on my mood. I am a sucker for country music but I don't lift to that, that more of rap/hip hop jam 

Q: Least favourite music to sweat to?
A: never tried classical, lol, but don’t really have a least favourite.

Q: Favourite movement/workout?
A: Lifting heavy. My favourite workouts are anything I think I can’t do then prove myself wrong and smash it.I also love burpees…

Q: Least favourite movement/workout?
A: box jumps. I can do them - I just doubt myself constantly. 

Q: Is there a member of the Proficient Community that inspires and motivates you to be better? 
A: My Coach B. She is a machine. She knows my goals and fully believes in me, it means alot. Also if I didnt say her my daughter would be mad because she also Loves B. 

Q: Is there a member of the Proficient community that needs to know you are coming for them? Feel free to put them on notice!
A: not really! I am amazed by the heavy weights I see the blokes lift and what they can do - so maybe just all the guys 

Q: Favourite post-workout meal?
A:  coffee & Probably my protein shake

Q: What fitness-related goals do you have for 2025
A: I want to compete in a weight lifting competition but also complete my 5th true grit in may in my best time but also do all of the obstacles ( I have skipped obstacles every year)
