Meet our member of the month for October Ashleigh.
Each session she always walks in with a huge smile and ready to get to business. Since starting at CrossFit Proficient, she has shown determination and commitment to reaching her specific goals.
We asked her a few questions about her journey at Proficient so far.
Q: How long have you been a member at Proficient?
A: 6 months
Q: What is your favourite thing about being a Proficient athlete?
A: The community energy during each workout is amazing, other athletes and the coaches push me to lift that bit more each week.
Q: How would you describe the community at Proficient?
A: Friendly, fun & inspiring.
Q: What advice do you have for someone who is intimidated by group fitness?
A: Dive in head first! You won't regret it, its the best gym environment you will ever be in. Personal training is also a great way to build up confidence in areas.
Q: Favourite music to sweat to?
A: Delta Goodrem & Eminem
Q: Least favourite music to sweat to?
A: Punk / Metal
Q: Favourite movement/workout?
A: Snatches or anything barbell related

A: Ski Erg
Q: Is there a member of the Proficient Community that inspires and motivates you to be better?
A: Caleb - he always pushes me when I struggle or get super fatigued to get the job done.

A: Any female who out lifts me in snatches!
Q: Favourite post-workout meal?
A: Sushi & protein iced coffee
Q: What fitness-related goals do you have for 2023?
A: Doing as much pull-up practice as I can, and improving on technique for my final weightlifting competition in December.
Q: Describe your athletic abilities in five words or less.
A: Strength & endurance
Q: What’s your background story outside of Proficient?
A: I have worked very hard over the last 8 years to improve my health, steadily losing 65kg in this time through a range of exercise programs. I have been doing weightlifting since February this year and love to compete in it.
